Converse Resident Lookup Record Paths
A name produces different kinds of Converse records, not one master identity file. The BCAD map can return an appraisal-owner relationship, parcel identifiers, and address fields. Bexar voter registration check is a current, address-oriented aid that can return a registered address and precinct after the required inputs. Court and vital indexes answer different questions again. Treat each result as a dated relationship, such as appraisal owner, court party, voter result, or business filer.
| Record family | What it can establish | Converse route | Access boundary |
|---|---|---|---|
| BCAD appraisal parcel | Appraisal owner, situs and mailing fields, parcel ID, legal description | BCAD map search | Current year plus five prior appraisal years online; older data uses a request path. |
| Recorded instrument | Grantor, grantee, document, subdivision, and recording date | Bexar Official Records | Free index; the portal does not publish a first online year. |
| Voter registration | Submitted registered-address and precinct result, when available | Bexar voter check | Confidential or suppressed addresses can be absent. |
| Court docket | Party, court, case or hearing, dates, and public status | Bexar Justice Portal | No document images; secured categories are excluded. |
| Vital or filing record | Event-index clue or a public filing relationship | DSHS and Texas SOS | Eligibility and record type control access. |
Begin with the source that matches what you know. An address and a name fit the appraisal and deed routes. A public case lead belongs in the court portal. A marriage or divorce question belongs with DSHS and the local custodian. A parcel is a county land-record unit, so a parcel hit links a person to a property record, not automatically to present occupancy.
Converse Court Lookup Results
The Bexar Justice Portal is the public starting point for county hearing and case information. Its guide uses a location, hearing-type, and search-type selection, with optional courtroom and date-range refinements. Search types include case number, party name, business name, attorney name, attorney bar number, judicial officer, and courtroom. The portal is a public convenience, not a replacement for the clerk’s original record, and it does not display document images.
| Justice Portal control | Use in a name check |
|---|---|
| Select Location | Required selection; the guide lists All Locations. |
| Select Hearing Types | Required selection; Criminal Hearings is one listed choice. |
| Select Search Types | Required selection; choose a party name or another documented search type. |
| Courtroom | Optional refinement where available. |
| Search by Date From / To | Optional hearing-date range. |
Log a returned docket by case number, displayed party and role, court, case type, filing date, hearing date or time, judicial officer, courtroom, and status if shown. A docket is the court’s running case list. It can show a public case event without establishing residence or a final outcome. For a Converse Class C traffic or city-ordinance matter, use the separate Converse Municipal Court search; its name mode also requires date of birth, which should not be copied into notes.
Converse Vital Lookup Rules
Vital events require more care than an ordinary name index. The Texas DSHS forms page provides the state routes, while the DSHS local-office directory assigns Bexar birth, death, and marriage service to the County Clerk and divorce records to the District Clerk. Public marriage indexes begin in 1966 and public divorce indexes begin in 1968, but DSHS says an index compilation is not comprehensive. A no-hit is not proof that an event did not occur.
Texas Government Code §552.115 makes a birth record public 75 years after birth and a death record public 25 years after death. Before those dates, DSHS requires a qualified person or someone with a direct and tangible interest. Certified copies stay with the custodian. DSHS lists certified birth records at $22, death certificates at $20 for the first copy and $3 for additional copies in the same order, and marriage or divorce verification at $20. Fees and eligibility should be checked with the live DSHS fee page before ordering.
Note: A verification letter is not a substitute for the certified license or decree held by the appropriate Bexar custodian.
Converse Precinct Search Facts
The Bexar Precinct Finder offers an address-first way to check a street or ZIP without making a name search. It accepts Street Name or ZIP Code, with street taking precedence when both are supplied. Enter the street without a directional prefix, choose the matching street, then narrow to an address range or block. Results can include a precinct, ballot or sample ballot, polling location, and representatives. The county calls it a read-only voter-registration street file for planning and directs users to confirm current information with Bexar Elections.
The official Precinct Finder screen below shows the street and ZIP route described by Bexar County.
The screen is useful for establishing a current address range and precinct context. It is not a list of all people on a street, and an absent voter result can reflect a protected address or another current-registration condition.
Converse Lookup Relationship Labels
Same-name errors are common. Compare two independent, non-sensitive anchors, usually a normalized address and a parcel or legal description, then compare the exact name, middle initial, suffix, organization, and date across sources. Do not flatten a recorded grantee, appraisal owner, permit applicant, directory listing, voter result, court party, or registered agent into a single claim that someone is a current Converse resident. Each label describes a different relationship.
- Use recorded grantee for a party named in a recorded instrument.
- Use appraisal owner for the BCAD tax-roll relationship.
- Use court party for a person or organization displayed in a docket.
- Use business filer or registered agent for a filing role.
- Use directory listing only for a dated historical entry.
If a public field appears wrong, return to its custodian: BCAD for appraisal ownership or characteristics, the County Clerk for recording-index questions, Elections for current registration, DSHS for vital amendments, and the court clerk for docket errors. Keep the source URL, date accessed, record identifier, and correction contact with the note.
Converse Growth and Record Dates
Converse changed quickly, which makes dates especially important when comparing a person’s record trail. The Census QuickFacts profile reports 8,887 people in 1990, 27,466 in 2020, and a 2025 estimate of 32,481. Those figures do not identify any individual. They do explain why a historical listing, older parcel mailing field, or current voter precinct may describe different stages of a growing community.
For older family research, the documented San Antonio directory runs may help, but TSLAC did not locate a dedicated Converse run. A dated listing should retain its volume, page, and image rather than being read as current. The TSLAC city-directory guide describes the fields that can appear in those publications and the need to check geographic coverage volume by volume.
Converse Business Filing Connections
A public business filing can help distinguish people with the same name, but it is not a residential record. Bexar County assumed-name records can identify a proprietor or organization, assumed name, filing date, and county filing information. The Texas Secretary of State business-services route points to SOSDirect for entity searches, copies, and certificates. Capture the exact legal name and entity number, not only a trade name.
Registered-agent information is a statutory contact role. It may belong to an attorney, service company, or office. Likewise, a public professional-license result identifies a license relationship, not a home address. Texas license databases commonly withhold individual address and telephone information. These limits keep a Converse resident lookup tied to the record it actually represents.
Verify a Converse Resident Match
Use a narrow sequence when an official record needs to be distinguished from a same-name match. Start with an address or parcel relationship, not a sensitive identifier. Then confirm the record type and date before adding another source. For a historical question, change the source family rather than assuming a current portal reaches every year.
- Normalize the address with the county map or geocoder and note the parcel or legal description.
- Compare the BCAD appraisal record with the County Clerk’s recorded-instrument index.
- Check a public court or voter route only for the relationship it returns, recording the access date.
- Ask the proper custodian for a certified document or correction when the index alone is not enough.
- Index
- A searchable list pointing to a record, often without the full document.
- Image
- A view of the document itself; the Bexar public Justice Portal does not provide docket document images.
- Certified copy
- A custodian-issued copy authenticated for the purpose allowed by that office.
Converse Lookup Privacy Limits
Texas public-record access has firm boundaries. Voter systems protect confidential addresses and may show an asterisk or substitute mailing address. DSHS restricts recent vital records. Court portals exclude secured categories, and public-information processes review records for redactions. The Texas Address Confidentiality Program provides substitute addresses for eligible participants. Never try to infer the physical location behind one.
Lawful use. Use Converse records for personal research, family history, estate questions, civic context, or a documented correction. Texas Penal Code §§42.07 and 42.072 address harassment and stalking; do not use records to target, watch, or intimidate anyone.
When a defined existing record is unavailable online, a focused public-information request can be appropriate. Request the record class, date span, name variants, and releasable fields from the custodian. Do not ask an office to create a current resident list that it does not maintain.
